Dr. Wade Elliott is full time Sport & Exercise Medicine physician with clinic locations in Burlington and Grimsby, Ontario. Dr. Elliott completed a Sport Medicine Fellowship at McMaster University in 2001 and received his Diploma in Sport Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine in 2002. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor Department Family Medicine, McMaster University. Dr. Elliott is extensively involved in medical education in Sport & Exercise Medicine, and has been the Program Director of the PGY3 Sport & Exercise Medicine resident program at McMaster University since 2006. He is also the chair of the CASEM Post Graduate Education Committee (prev Fellowship Committee) since 2008, , past chair OMA Section on Sports Medicine.
Dr. Elliott also works extensively with all levels of athletes and teams. Since 2016 he has been the Chief Medical Officer for Cycling Canada and lead physician for Canada’s National Track Cycling team. Previously, he is a former assistant physician for the Toronto Rock Lacrosse team 2001-2008, former team physician McMaster Mauraders football team 2001-2004 and former assistant team physician Hamiton Ti-Cats from 2001-2003. In addition, Dr. Elliott has served as Chief Medical Officer for the ISU Four Continents Skating competition in Hamilton 2003 as well as medical team member for the National and World Road Cycling Championships in Hamilton in 2003.
Dr Elliott’s clinical practice is focused on athletes of all ages and patient’s with an injury or illness affecting their ability to participate in exercise or sport. He also treats and manages patient’s with osteoarthritis to optimize their function, as well as post surgical exercise and rehabilitation guidance. He welcomes patients from the GTA, Halton, Hamilton and Niagara regions.
